The project

Born as a death-doom one-man-band, mu:d starts in 2016 by composing some tracks which eventually form, in the beginning of 2017, the first concept EP named “Less”, self-produced in 10 hand-numbered promo CD copies. In the same year I also hit the stage twice, one of them featuring conceptual artist Lig.Ot (formerly EDAPTLS) on guitar; other tracks have been released on YouTube and Bandcamp, with a more black metal sound. In 2020 I sign with the label Visionaire Records for releasing on digital platforms the first EP and the other singles collected in a second EP named “River”. In 2021 it is released the single “A little step to the end”, in the style of funeral doom metal, and in 2022 the experimental sci-fi concept EP “drø[w]ned”, featuring drones, noise and ambient. In 2023 an atmospheric black metal EP has been released, the first one featuring lyrics in Italian language, in limited edition tapes provided by Strani Orizzonti Autoproduzioni. On July 7th 2026 sophomore album MADRE TERRA, following the Poetic Black Metal Manifesto, has been released.

About me

My main instrument is bass guitar, and I play bass in several bands: the power metal Secret Wizard (formerly), the Duran Duran tribute Vertigo! and the currently-paused prog-wave n3:ght. I am also a reviewer for heavymetalmaniacIT webzine. Besides music, I am a manga comics and anime fan, I like boardgames (I have a huge colllection) and roller skating.I am also politically active in far-left party Pistoia Rossa. In spare time, I teach Maths and Physics at the high school (OK, it’s my job).

Poetic Black Metal Manifesto

Ritual, not art.
All must wound.
Sound is blade.
Verse is blood.
Fury is form.
Noise is silence.
Beauty rots.
Nature kills.
Darkness incubates.
Mere rawness = bare black metal.
Mere hermetism = bare poetry.
No comfort, only transformation.
